Shadows in the Corner

I toss and turn
to now avail,
I can't sleep.

I lie on my side,
start to silently 
cry.

A tiny light in the corner,
Shadows blocking it.

"Mommy"
I'm scared
"Mommy"

No answer.

Deep down,
I know she doesn't care
But I hope,
I pray...

They creep closer...

"Mommy" are you there?
