Haunted By Her Memory
By Amberly A.M. Oosthuizen
She sat at the back of the class,
Never asked questions
Just took down the notes
You never noticed
Her seat is now empty,
She is not missed
You wondered
But you never asked,
Just sat down and took the notes
Years Later,
You'll ask yourself why;
Why did you watch them hurt her?
Why did you stand there, without the words?
Were you a coward, or someone
conformed to society
That girl is gone...
I watch you now,
Writhing in your guilt
Visiting her grave every year,
On Her birthday
She wanted to be a writer,
And she would have been...
If you hadn't silently killed her
