The Tortoise and the Hare
Amberly M. Oosthuizen
Our teacher said he'd be here,
We had to write a test.
The bell rang,
We waited,
A lot of my class-mates got excited,
As the minutes ticked away,
We stood at our desks,
Military Style.
A substitute walked in,
What a sight to see.
He greeted us,
We gasped.
He told us to take our books out.
We stood and stared.
For the tortoise-faced man,
With the hare-shaped body,
Was teaching us geography.
